PBIS and The Eagle Way
What is PBIS?
For those families new to Conners, PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support Initiatives.
It is a positive behavior system put in place to encourage students to monitor behavior and gauge their social emotional learning. Our goal is to establish an environment where appropriate behavior is the norm by celebrating, recognizing and rewarding positive behavior.
The use of eagle tickets helps us to recognize and reinforce positive behavior. Students are given the opportunity to earn eagle tickets on a daily basis. These eagle tickets may be used to “purchase” tickets to special events and classroom rewards. Some of the favorite classroom rewards students save tickets for include lunch with the teacher or teacher chair for the day. Ask your child what they like to use their eagle tickets for.
“The goal of Positive Behavior Support is not “perfect children”. Rather the goal should be creating the perfect environment for enhancing their growth.” - Randy Sprick
